ABOUT: On 7th march 2015, austrian artist RAHMAN HAK-HAGIR invited his audience at Galerie ALCHIMIA in Dijon (France) to reflect on the principles of codes of honour by performing a classical duel situation. In history duels were fought not so much to kill the opponent as to gain „satisfaction“, that is, to restore one’s honour by demonstrating a willingness to risk one’s life for it.
During the start of his performance RÉPARATION for ITALIART 2015, the artist adressed „formal“ insults to the spectators; to provide them with an individual CASUS BELLI (Latin: An act or event that provokes or is used to justify war“). – Between 7th and 11th march, RAHMAN HAK-HAGIR and his co-performer STEFAN FRAUNBERGER met those dijonese people who therefore demanded RÉPARATION in individual paintball pistol duels.
These duels where carried out and documented in rue Auguste Comte
and Jardin de l’Arquebuse, Dijon (France) 2015.
• 19 dijonese citizens demanded RÉPARATION.
• 6 Duels had been carried out on 11th march in 14 rue
Jehan de Marville „Jardin de l’Arquebuse“.
• The artist lost 4 of these duels. In 2 he suceeded.
• All the 19 challengers where ready to meet up.
• No one deflected. Respect Dijon ~

STEFAN FRAUNBERGER is an earth based sound-performer and sonic-linguist focusing on transformation indwelling the drama of states as architecture of movement, silence and possibility. Genuine interest in sculpting the body of air, the composition of tongues, electricity and strings.
